Training
Another important goal of the Centre for Instrumentation Services (CIS) is to ensure better upkeep of instruments and equipment in scientific laboratories. Emphasis is therefore placed on developing in-house capabilities for achieving the above.
In this respect, the CIS regularly organises workshops and short-term training programmes targeted to the technical cadre of scientific laboratories and with the aim of improving their on-job performance. The topics covered pertain to laboratory management, instrument operation, preventive maintenance and basic repairs.
Training pertaining to Information Technology such as Utilisation of IT resources and Use of specialised software packages are also delivered when required. So far, two (2) National Workshops and nine (9) training programmes have been conducted
