The Publication Grant Scheme provides uo to Rs 25,000 for the publication of books and research materials. The rules and the procedure for seeking the publication grant are mentioned below.

Who may request for the Publication Grant?

The TEC’s Publication Grant Scheme is targeted for staff of the Tertiary Education Institutions as well as to researchers in general. The grant has also been extended to persons outside the Tertiary Education Sector who has already published or who intends to publish their writings.

When to request for the Publication Grant?

Request for the Publication Grant may be made to the TEC at any time. The procedures of evaluation of the work of the applicant normally require a minimum of six weeks and a maximum of 3 months. However, there may be cases where, because of the complexity of a publication, more time may be required for processing.

Funding

The TEC grants an amount up to Rs. 25,000 for the publication of books.

Procedures

1. Applicants have to submit their writings to the TEC
2. The work of the applicant is assessed by an expert in the field concerned
3. The Sub-Committee on Research chaired by Hon. Judge Domah considers the assessment submitted by the expert
4. The Sub-Committee on Research makes recommendations to TEC Board
5. The applicant is informed of the decision of the TEC board and necessary action is taken accordingly.
